Huntsman is the world's largest privately held chemical company. Huntsman companies employ 15,000 people in more than 40 countries, with annual revenues of approximately $9.5 billion. The operating companies manufacture basic products for a variety of global industries including chemicals, plastics, automotive, aviation, footwear, paints and coatings, construction, technology, agriculture, health care, textiles, detergent, personal care, furniture, appliances and packaging.

 Huntsman Chemical Company Australia was established in the West Footscray plant in 1941. The plant covers an area of 96 acres, and manufactures a large range of industrial chemicals.

GJK Facility Services provides and coordinates an entire selection of building support services for Huntsmen covering cleaning, pest control, laundry, sanitary services, window cleaning, road sweeping, kitchen filter cleaning, grounds and gardens maintenance.

A special requirement of managing this site is when the plant shut down’s for maintenance, where large numbers of additional staff are brought in working 24/7 to ensure all services are maintained on an ongoing basis. GJK Facility Services have held the contract for the last two years.
