GJK Facility Services believes that great transparency leads to improved sustainability performance, they became members of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Organisational Stakeholders Group to become involved in the further development, improvement and dissemination of the GRI Reporting Framework. In October 2008 the Global Reporting Initiative announced they had established a new Australian base at St. James Ethic Centre. View Media Release GJK along with other Australian Organisational Stakeholders received an invitation from the St James Ethics Centre and the Global Reporting Initiative and participated in a special program of consultation and feedback on the establishment of this GRI Focal Point in Australia in December 2008. GJK are extremely proud to be part of this great intiative.
GRI has pioneered the development of the world's most widely used sustainability reporting framework (G3) and is committed to its continuous improvement and application worldwide. This framework sets out the principles and indicators which organisations use to measure and report on their economic, environmental and social performance. These Guidelines have become the 'gold standard' of reporting and is the most used, credible and trusted framework within the world.
 GJK's Green Team
In order to demonstrate our commitment to corporate social responsibility and to reduce our Greenhouse Gas emissions and our impact on the environment, we engaged the services of Sustainable Footprint Pty Ltd to perform an energy, water and transport audit of our Head Office. As part of this process we are now part of the carbon monitoring program with the aim of becoming carbon neutral. We are committed in setting an example to all of our stakeholders in order to demonstrate how practical measures taken at corporate and personal levels can tackle the issues of climate change head on.
Some of GJK's sustainable initiatives are:
· GJK are signatories of City Switch Green Office. City Switch Green Office is a national tenant energy efficient program run in partnership between the cities of Sydney, North Sydney, Parramatta, Willoughby, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth along with state government agencies, the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water and Sustanability Victoria.

· We have converted to 50% renewable energy via Original Energy, "Government Accredited" Green Power. Green Power is a government accreditation program for renewable energy. Renewable energy is generated from sources like mini hydro, wind power and biomass which produce no net greenhouse gas emissions.
